Sam Moore Open Farm - A treat for all the family!
(25 minutes from The Glencarn Hotel Castleblayney) Combines vintage displays and an insight into how life used to be with unusual animals and nature walks. There are stationary engines, vintage cars and a working forge for the vintage/heritage enthusiasts. Animals include alpacas, miniature donkeys, pygmy goats, different breeds of sheep, pygmy hedgehogs, geese, Black Swans to name but a few.

Ballybay Wetlands Centre
(12 minutes from The Glencarn Hotel Castleblayney) The focus of the Ballybay Wetlands Project is Derryvalley Farm situated on the Dromore River system. This wetland is recognised as being a regionally important site for wintering migratory birdlife including Whooper swan and Siberian widgeon. As a year-round refuge for a wide spectrum of waterfowl, the 65 acre Derryvalley Farm and newly constructed Wetlands Centre offer an unparalleled venue for the study and appreciation of a unique wildlife experience.

Situated in Muckno Park with toddler area and adventure playground that will keep children from 2 to 16 busy for hours. The playground is designed using National Play principles. Open during daylight hours. Admission Free.
